Clarification

Judging from some of the comments and notes I got since I wrote this journal, it's pretty clear that many people didn't quite understand what exactly I was talking about. I was kinda dumbfounded by the "Omg, we will miss you, don't leave!" messages, it's nice you want me to stay but eh, I never planned to leave, a break doesn't mean going away forever.

I didn't say that...

...I would leave DeviantArt forever.
...I would stop drawing.
...I wouldn't ever gonna upload art again.
...trolls or flaming were the reason why I was taking a break. ( Seriously, then I would have left the internet YEARS ago already )

I did say that...

...I would take a break, meaning reduced activity on DeviantArt.
...I wouldn't upload that much for a while.
...trolls are pathetic.
...anyone who's flamed and insulted should keep drawing what they enjoy since there are always people who appreciate their work and it matters what makes the artist happy.

To answer a few questions people had or might have :

-"Why have you disabled comments on your pictures?"

Because I usually get around 100 comments on each new picture + comments on a bunch of of the over 1000 pictures in my gallery + user page comments + notes. It took me a long time to read all of those and reply to the questions, questions that were usually already answered in the description. Since I disabled comments I noticed that I spend more time on my art instead of checking DA every hour. Yeah, I was and am DA-addicted, and spent TOO much time on this site, it really wasn't healthy anymore.

-"Why do you upload pictures if you don't want feedback?"

Like I said, it has nothing to do with not wanting feedback, but after getting feedback on DA for 7 years and spending insane amounts of time reading and replying to comments, I think people should accept that I want a time-out.
I draw for myself and my clients. I do upload for my fans. Of course I could say "No, I won't upload my new stuff anymore", but a hell of a lot of people already wrote concerned notes and comments that they still wanna see my new art.

-"Why did you write about a break anyway, you could have just disabled comments on pictures."

Simple. Because when I do something "unexpected" or "unusual", like disabling comments, not uploading new art for 1 or 2 weeks or not replying to notes and comments immediately, some people get worried and ask me what's wrong. Like :
"When will you upload new art again???"
"Did you get my note, you still didn't reply!"
"Why did you disable comments, what happened!?"
So I wanted my watchers to know I'm still alive but not active 24/7.

-"Is your break over now?"

Not really.
I still wanna spend less time on DA than I used to, so I can concentrate more on my real life and work.
So comments will stay disabled.
I won't reply to comments or notes unless it's something important. Please understand that I won't reply to stuff like "Which program do you use for your art???" ( It's really been answered over a thousand times in the past and everywhere on my page. )
"Will you join my contest?"
"Please comment on my art!"
"I want you do do a request for me!"
etc.

BUT :

I'll upload new art now and then and I'll offer new commission slots in a few days. Also plan to offer adoptables, if people are interested.
