Had this idea because now and then people are confused, disturbed or plain mad because they see I'm 24 years old and obsessed with a 15-year old character.

Now, to understand this you need to be able to understand what time is and how it works. ;)

"Treasure Planet" was released in 2002. Jim is 15 in the movie ( while I still think he looks older than that ). When I saw it I had just turned 18. So there's an outrageous age-difference of 3 years. OMG! :P
So now, in 2009, I`m 24 ( turning 25 in october ) and Jim would be around 22 years old.

I know cartoon characters don't really "age", but since I got older I kinda let him age with me in my drawings...ok, that sounds slightly weird, but I hope you get my point. *lol*
However, thought it would be nice to show the difference between the movie-version of Jim and how I draw him. Have been working on an adult version of him for a while, since it was difficult to get a balance between staying true to the character and aging him up at the same time. Hope you all like how it turned out. :)

Oh, and it's just flat colours because I'm still busy with my commissions and don't have time to fully shade it. Did this after midnight and working all day on the commissions. *hand is dead*

EDIT :
About the same clothes, I deliberately chose them that way because I didn't want different clothes to distract from the changes in face and physique. ;)
It's easier to see the differences now.

EDIT 2 :
Made the head of adult Jim smaller and his torso / arm a little longer, like it was suggested. :)
Thanks again for the helpful advice.
And for the people who are too blind to see the difference, aging doesn't mean turning into a completely new person.
Let's take Jospeh Gordon Levitt as example, here's a photo of him at age 24 and 15. He looks older but still has pretty much the same distinctive features :

EDIT 3 :
Last one, I hope! *g*
Okay, a few people have told me that I should have given Jim different clothes ( again ) , different hairstyle and expression because he should look different after those years. I don't deny that many people change their styles over the years, but please respect my own opinion instead of saying that I should have done it differently because YOU don't agree with this version of him. I still have pretty much the same clothing and hairstyle like 6 years ago, simply because I like it and have found "my" style and don`t feel the need to cut my hair and run around in clothes that are the opposite of what I wear now. I`ve explained why I chose the same clothes for Jim already, and even if I gave him different ones, it would have been the same clothing style, just slightly different colours and variations. And about the hair, sorry, but I adore his hairstyle and wanna keep it like that. After all, that's not the universal adult Jim, it's MY version of what I expect and like him to be looking like, so please respect that and don't take it so serious. :)

EDIT 4 :
Okay, I lied, another one. XP
Btw, that`s Disney's version of afult Jim from the computer game "Battle at Procyon".

Do you think that's better? Same face, shorter hair, ugly beard and Vegeta-like expression ( thanks, !Sahtori for the comparison with Vegeta XD ).
