If you have a question then please read this because it may already have the answer you`re looking for. ^^
You might have noticed that I disabled comments on commissions. That's because I see no point in people commenting and asking about characters and ideas which aren't my own ( so comments on my personal art are still allowed ). It was pretty awkward in the past when the design of a character or the content of the picture was criticized and people didn't really understand that I'm an artistic service provider and not everything I draw came from my own mind. I'm a freelance artist, people pay me to draw what they want, they are the ones who pay my bills.
I noticed myself that I keep getting asked to draw the same things over and over again. Once I had 3 people in a row telling me to draw their characters looking into the night sky. And this concept is wanted again and again ( currently two again ) because in my gallery it might be a very repetitive thing but for the person who ordered it it's probably something they haven't seen with their characters so far. I understand it can get boring for my watchers but I have to please my paying clients, not persuade them to let me draw something else because I need to keep my watchers entertained. Most of my clients also send me detailed information about which pose they want, so well described or with references ( from other pictures I drew ) that I don't have artistic freedom anymore. And again, if several people want a side view or their characters standing on a cliff, staring into the sky, etc. then it's their wish that matters.
If you work as a cook then you can't complain about 70% of your guests wanting pizza either and go like "Bohoo, but I can cook steak, noodles, rice and potatoes as well!"
If you want the same now, hey, don't worry, even if a dozen people ask me to draw it I will. This is not to prevent future clients from asking those popular concepts, it's to make everyone here understand that I draw what I'm asked to draw. I'm working on commissions every day, most of my time and creativity goes into that because, like I said, it's my job and I want to make my clients happy. For Eurofurence I have to draw things that have a big chance of actually getting sold. My ideas for more RotG-fanart aren't ending and I also regularly work on my oneshot-collection on Fanficntion.net. You might notice that there's not much time left. Actually my RotG-work is the only thing I do for fun. Even the animal pictures I'm currently working on will be for Eurofurence next year, because I need new prints and originals.
So, I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
